Belize Honeymoons

Azure coloured waters, white sandy beaches and palm fringed sand islands make Belize an ideal Honeymoon destination. Add to this pristine, lush rainforest, scenic mountain ranges and beautiful coral reefs that all host an array of visible wildlife. To relax and appreciate this natural world you can choose from a range of accommodation from luxury beach resorts and jungle lodges to remote island cabanas and adventure lodges.

Cayes, Islands & Atolls

In Belize there are several options to stay on romantic islands in luxury or on remote cayes with a true Robinson Crusoe feel.

Glover's Reef Atoll was named after pirates and is a remote atoll situated 25 miles from Belize mainland. If you are looking for a desert island escape then this is probably as close as it comes.

Ambergris Caye, or San Pedro (is the name of the main town), is the most developed island in Belize and has plenty of luxurious accommodation, shops, chic restaurants and the barrier reef is a short boat ride away.

Caye Caulker, a neighbouring island is quieter and more laid-back, offers budget accommodation and is popular with divers.

Beaches

For beach relaxation head to Placencia or Hopkins on the southern coast, accommodation choices range from luxury villas and boutique hotels to thatched beach cabanas and guest houses. Placencia town has a laid back Caribbean feel, where there are romantic restaurants and a Barefoot beach bar that has live music.

Placencia or Hopkins are both great locations for many tours and activities in Belize. Diving and snorkelling trips take place daily to the reef and there are some fantastic mainland excursions, including visiting Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary, the world's first Jaguar reserve.

Rainforest

Staying in a treetop suite in a jungle lodge and waking up to the cacophony of rainforest sounds is an amazing way to settle into your honeymoon. Or sitting on your veranda sipping a Belikin beer and watching the sunset over the New Lagoon is equally relaxing.

Mayan ruins hidden among jungle canopy that are home to Howler Monkeys and Toucans are atmospheric places to visit at dusk or dawn, where there is a high chance you will be there alone.

Perhaps an Indiana Jones style adventure into a Mayan Cave would be more your idea of the perfect honeymoon, if so, it can be arranged.

Alternatively, if that sounds too energetic then indulge in a Spa day in the jungle at the foothills of the Maya Mountains, or have your own private waterfall in the Mountain pine ridge (with champagne of course).
