Chaa Creek Lodge

Cayo

Chaa Creek is a private 365 acre nature reserve set along the banks of the Macal river and at the foothills of the Maya mountains. There are a number of activities available onsite that will enhance your experience of the surrounding rainforest and its wildlife.

This is a beautiful and luxurious resort that is run with minimum impact on the surrounding environment and has sustainable tourism at the heart of its operation.

Rooms are comfortable palm-thatched cottages, which include two tree-top Jacuzzi suites, orchard villas and a Sky room. Some villas can accommodate up to 4 or 6 people making them an ideal choice for families and groups travelling together.

Dining occurs in the restaurant where there is a selection of modern and traditional dishes on the menu as well as a 4 course daily Chef's menu. Food is either grown at the organic farm or sourced from local producers. There is also a verandah bar at the resort that opens from 6am until the last guest leaves.

Onsite activities include canoeing, horseback riding, mountain biking, rainforest medicine trail, early morning birdwatching, guided nature walks, visits to natural history centre and butterfly farm .

The Spa is onsite and is set above the Macal river with a panoramic view of the Mayan mountains and surrounding rainforest. Treatments offered include body wrap massages, facials and body scrubs.

The Pool is a new addition to the lodge and is situated so that you can appreciate the beautiful setting whilst you swim. A great place to unwind for a couple of hours before your next activity.

Our Comment: The Lodge at Chaa Creek really is luxury in a beautiful and natural setting. The grounds are large affording privacy and there is an array of activities available. The guides are excellent and very knowledgeable and we highly recommend the "Creatures of the Night Walk" for an alternative view of the jungle.
