Bocawina Rainforest Resort

Hopkins region

Bocawina Rainforest Resort is a small lodge set within the Mayflower Bocawina National Park, the lodge has the privilege of being the only accommodation in this remote and beautiful setting. The park encompasses 7,100 acres of lush jungle with a number of waterfalls (including the 1000 foot Antelope Falls), trails that can be hiked independently and several unexcavated mayan ruins. There is a fabulous Zipline Adventure Course within the park which is one of the longest in Central America and is run by the lodge.

Rooms: range from simple Mayan rooms at the budget level, to natural and spacious thatched roof cabanas and modern, elegant deluxe suites.

Dining: occurs in the Wild Fig restaurant which is open air and under a thatched roof palapa. The restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner

Onsite: Onsite there is an amazing Zipline Adventure Course available for guests to fly through the forest canopy, complete with treehouse platforms. The lodge also offers waterfall rappelling within the park, guided hiking, guided night walks and early morning bird walks. Guests can explore the Mayflower Bocawina Park independently and hike to five waterfalls in one day.

Nearby Excursions: the hotel is only 30 minutes drive from Hopkins village which is an interesting Garifuna village. In nearby Dangriga boats depart for the beautiful South Water Caye Marine Reserve and the middle cayes of the barrier reef.

Our Comment: This lodge is ideal for travellers looking for adventure in an off the beaten track location. The setting is gorgeous and an amazing number of bird species can be spotted on the grounds as well as other wildlife.
